The size of the sling depends on the wearer's build and the knots used. Some slings require more length than others. The front cross wrap is the simplest knot for beginners: for this knot, you can refer to the following table:

If you are between two sizes, opt for the larger one; it is always better to have a little too much fabric than not enough.
As your baby grows, back carries require a little less length than front carries, so you won't need to get a longer scarf.

Here is a quick checklist to ensure your baby is positioned physiologically:
- at kissing height, so high on your chest,
- clear airways,
- with his back curled up,
- fabric from one hollow of the knee to the other,
- feet outside the carrying device

The fabric used to make the scarves consists of a very specific weave (broken twill) used only in babywearing and not found in general fabric stores.
A simple canvas would risk being too rigid lengthwise and widthwise, causing shearing, and too soft diagonally, causing deformation and a lack of support. The material must also be sufficiently flexible to allow for proper adjustments.
