The size of the scarf depends on the wearer's build and the knots that will be tied with it.
Cross carries are generally more demanding than kangaroo carries. Based on a front cross carry, which remains the simplest carry for beginners, the following table can be suggested:

If you are between two sizes, we advise you to take the larger size; it is always better to have a little too much material than not enough!
As your baby grows, back carries require a little less length than front carries, so you won't need to get a longer scarf.

When the two parents have very different builds, everything will depend on how the scarf will be used and how significant the difference is.

If there is a clear primary wearer, the prevailing advice is to choose the size based on their optimal fit: since it's the person who will be using the wrap daily, they need to be comfortable with it. Note that there's only a 50cm difference between 4.10m and 4.60m, meaning that at the end of the wrap, there's only 25cm on either side of the knot. For the wearer needing the 4.10m wrap, this is a minimal difference, but for the other wearer, it's the difference between being able to finish tying the knot or not!

If both parents carry the baby in a nearly identical way, the size will be adjusted according to the taller parent.

Les tricots sont extensibles, ils apportent un côté très cocon et enveloppant, un effet seconde peau. Ils nécessitent 2 à 3 épaisseurs de matière dans le dos de bébé pour être sécuritaires et sont généralement destinés aux premiers mois de vie de bébé (durée variable selon leur densité et s’ils contiennent ou non de l’élastane) et uniquement pour un portage ventral.

Les tissus sont plus soutenants et respirants tout en restant doux. Ils peuvent s’utiliser en 1 seule épaisseur et sont donc plus pertinents pour un portage estival. Ce sont les plus pérennes, ils peuvent supporter des poids très importants et peuvent vous accompagner en ventral ou en dorsal jusqu’à la fin de votre portage.

La viscose de bambou qui compose l’écharpe My Cocon lui apporte une sensation de fraîcheur qui aide à compenser les 3 épaisseurs de matière nécessaires lorsqu’il fait chaud. My cocon contient également un peu d’élastane et est suffisamment soutenante pour permettre un portage jusqu’à 1 an environ.

Les écharpes tissées sont principalement en coton tissage sergé-brisé, qui est la matière la plus polyvalente et facile à laver.
Les tissages jacquards sont beaucoup plus complexes à produire. Ils ont un motif qui forme un effet double face (les coloris sont en négatif sur la deuxième face), et sont également plus souples, plus doux, et plus facile à ajuster que leurs homologues en sergé-brisé.
Les écharpes de la gamme seacell sont tissées en jacquard et contiennent 10% de viscose d’algue, cela leur confère une sensation de fraîcheur idéale pour l’été et une fluidité encore plus facile à manier.
Monochrome est plus épaisse et dense, elle est destinée au portage d’enfants plus grands et lourds (déconseillée avant les 6 mois de bébé)

The recommended knot for learning to carry is the wrap-cross knot (unspread panels in woven fabric, spread panels in knitted fabric).
This knot requires relatively few technical manipulations and presents few risks of error, unlike the kangaroo knot which is more complex to master.

The fabric used to make the scarves consists of a very specific weave (broken twill) used only in babywearing and not found in general fabric stores.
A simple piece of fabric cannot be used because it doesn't behave as intended for comfortable carrying: it's too rigid lengthwise and widthwise (causing chafing), and too soft diagonally (deforming and not providing adequate support). The material must also be flexible enough to allow for proper adjustments.
